UPCOMING RESIDENT OPPORTUNITIES

The Virginia Radiological Society Resident and Fellow  Section (RFS) will soon be holding elections for the RFS Executive Council. This will be our 11th year as a formal RFS in Virginia.  Becoming a member of the Executive Council offers the chance to be a part of   our continuous growth and a seat at the table during regional and national   level discussions on the state of radiology and health care at large. This   has been a rewarding experience for all of us and we encourage you to submit an application!

The current RFS positions are as follows: President, Vice   President, Secretary, Education Liaison, and Communications Liaison. We also have positions open for the Resident Board Member to the Virginia   Radiological Society Board (one position per residency program). We hold hour-long meetings about every other month (6 hour commitment per year) and require attendance at the annual state Society meeting. This past year, the RFS continued to provide its extremely high yield annual board review course and participated in our annual lobby days in Richmond and Washington, DC. We are also working to expand our outreach to interested students in local medical schools. There is great   potential for expanding the RFS if you are someone with a vision!

The deadline for applications is FRIDAY, JULY 17TH at 5:00 PM. You do not have to be present at the annual meeting to run for a position. However, attending may help your chances of winning because voting will take place IN PERSON at the meeting. The meeting will be held August 1-2, 2026 at the Boar's Head Resort in Charlottesville, Virginia (More details HERE).
